First there was Virtua Racing on the Sega Megadrive. Then there was Virtua Chess on the PC. Now we have Virtual Pool for the PC, featuring polygon animation that used to require special co- processors to run above a crawl.
In fact Virtual Pool needs very little to run. A 386, 4Mb of Ram and a few Mb of hard disk space will set you up with the closest thing to real pool you've ever seen.
The default screen mode is quite low resolution, but even so the animation is stunningly smooth and realistic. Having said that, a number of super VGA cards are supported as standard, improving the look of the game even more.
